Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 29, 2026

This policy explains what the WriteProMax Chrome extension and this website do with your data. The short version: WriteProMax has no server of its own, doesn’t keep what you write and doesn’t track you.

1. What WriteProMax is

WriteProMax is a Chrome extension that rewrites the text you select in a text field when you press a keyboard shortcut. It uses Groq’s AI service with an API key that you create in your own Groq account. The developer of WriteProMax doesn’t run any server that receives your text or your key.

2. What the extension handles

The text you select

  • When you press the shortcut, WriteProMax reads the text you selected in the focused field, including an instruction you added after a “+”.
  • It sends that text over HTTPS to Groq’s API (api.groq.com) with your API key, receives the rewrite and puts it in place of your selection.
  • Nothing is read before you press the shortcut. WriteProMax doesn’t listen to your keystrokes or scan the pages you visit.
  • It never reads password, one-time-code or payment card fields.
  • The extension doesn’t store or log your text.
  • If a rewrite can’t be put in place, it’s copied to your clipboard so it isn’t lost. WriteProMax only writes to the clipboard in that case and never reads from it.

Your Groq API key

  • Your key is saved in the extension’s local storage in your Chrome profile. It isn’t synced to other devices or to your Google account.
  • Only WriteProMax’s own settings page and background worker can read it. Websites, and the parts of the extension that run inside web pages, can’t.
  • It’s sent only to Groq, to authorize your requests.
  • You can remove it at any time with Remove key in WriteProMax settings. Uninstalling the extension deletes it too.

Your settings

The AI model you pick is saved locally alongside your key.

What isn’t collected

The extension has no accounts and collects no personal information, browsing history, usage analytics or telemetry. It uses no cookies and shows no ads. The developer never receives your text, your key or information about how you use the extension.

3. Groq

Groq processes the text you send under your own Groq account, according to Groq’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Please read them to understand how Groq handles and retains that data. WriteProMax doesn’t control how Groq processes it.

4. Permissions and why they’re needed

  • Storage: to save your API key and chosen model in your browser.
  • Scripting: to add WriteProMax to tabs that were already open when you installed it, so the shortcut works there without reloading.
  • Access to all websites: so the shortcut works in text fields on any site, including editors inside embedded frames, and so the extension can reach Groq’s API. WriteProMax does nothing on a page until you press the shortcut.
  • Keyboard shortcut: Chrome itself detects the shortcut and tells WriteProMax, so the extension never needs to watch what you type.

5. Sharing and selling

Your data is never sold, rented or shared. The only third party involved is Groq, which you choose and sign up for yourself, and it receives only the text you ask WriteProMax to rewrite.

6. Chrome Web Store user data policy

WriteProMax’s use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. This website

This website has no accounts and sets no cookies. To see how many people visit and how fast its pages load, it uses Vercel’s cookie-free analytics.

  • Vercel Web Analytics counts page views. Each visit records the page, the site that linked to it, your approximate location (country, region and city), and your browser, operating system and device type. Instead of a cookie, visitors are recognized by a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, so the data is anonymous and isn’t tied to you or your IP address. See Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy policy.
  • Vercel Speed Insights measures how quickly pages load and respond. It’s anonymous and can’t identify you or follow you from page to page. See Vercel’s Speed Insights privacy policy.
  • It loads the Lato font from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when your browser requests the font.
  • It’s hosted on Vercel, which may process standard request information, such as your IP address, to deliver the site.
  • The playground’s text boxes are ordinary text fields. What you type there stays in your browser, unless you use WriteProMax on it, in which case the extension handles it as described above.

These analytics cover this website only. The extension contains none, and nothing you do in it is reported to them.

8. Children

WriteProMax isn’t directed at children under 13. Because it collects no personal information, it doesn’t knowingly collect any from children either.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, this page and the “Last updated” date will be updated. Significant changes, such as adding usage analytics to the extension, will be announced here before they take effect.
