By default WriteProMax fixes grammar, spelling and clarity. End your selection with + an instruction to change the tone, length or format. The whole selection, instruction included, is replaced with the result.

Add WriteProMax to Chrome

Create a free Groq account
Sign up at console.groq.com. Groq runs the AI model that does the rewriting.

Create an API key
Open API Keys, click Create API Key and copy it. It starts with
gsk_. -

Paste it and click “Save & test”
WriteProMax checks the key and picks the best model it can use. Once it says Ready, select text anywhere and press ⌘⇧Space.

Private by design
You write emails, messages and work documents. WriteProMax is built to see as little of that as possible, and to keep none of it. Read the full privacy policy.
- Only what you select, only when you ask. Nothing is read while you type; the text is sent only when you press the shortcut.
- No middleman. WriteProMax has no server of its own. Your selection goes from your browser straight to Groq with your key, and Groq’s terms apply.
- Nothing is stored. The extension never saves or logs what you write.
- Your key stays in your browser. It never syncs, and websites and page scripts can’t read it.
- Hands off sensitive fields. Password, one-time-code and payment fields are never read.

Questions, answered
Is WriteProMax free?
Yes. WriteProMax is free and runs on your own Groq API key. Groq’s free plan has generous limits per minute and per day, and if you hit one, WriteProMax tells you when to try again.
Why do I need a Groq API key?
WriteProMax has no server of its own. Your key lets the extension send the text you select straight to Groq and get the rewrite back, under your own Groq account. Setup takes about two minutes.
Is my API key safe?
It’s saved only in this browser profile and never syncs. Only WriteProMax’s own settings page and background worker can read it; websites and page scripts can’t. You can remove it in settings at any time.
Which browsers does WriteProMax support?
Google Chrome, version 120 or newer.
Where does it work?
In text inputs, text areas and rich-text editors, including editors inside frames and shadow DOM. It can’t run on Chrome’s own pages, the Chrome Web Store or the built-in PDF viewer. Apps that draw text their own way, such as Google Docs, Office Online and code editors, aren’t supported yet.
What does it do if I don’t add an instruction?
It improves grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and clarity while keeping your meaning, tone and important details like names, numbers and links.
Does WriteProMax store what I write?
No. Only the text you select is sent, only when you press the shortcut, and it goes straight to Groq, not to us. The extension doesn’t save or log it, and password and payment fields are never read.
What if I don’t like the result?
Press ⌘Z (CtrlZ on Windows and Linux) to undo, or try again with an instruction such as + keep it casual.
Can I change the shortcut?
Yes. Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts in Chrome and pick any combination you like.
I pressed the shortcut and nothing happened. What now?
Click the WriteProMax icon in the toolbar. It shows Setup needed if no working key is saved, and the shortcut Chrome assigned, which may be empty if another extension already uses it. Tabs that were open before you installed work too.
Which languages does it support?
WriteProMax answers in the language you wrote in. You can also ask it to switch, for example + convert to Hindi or + translate to French.
Which AI model does it use?
openai/gpt-oss-120b on Groq by default. After you save your key, settings list the models your key can use, and you can pick another one.
How much text can I rewrite at once?
Up to 5,000 characters per selection, plus up to 300 characters for the instruction after the +.
Is there a desktop or mobile version?
Not yet. A desktop app with a system-wide shortcut and keyboards for Android and iOS are on the roadmap.
